The 6th 5CC took place in the Congress Hall and the renowned Croisette di Cannes. The faculty consisted of truly stellar level specialists, who addressed all aesthetics related topics. Lasers, injectables, cosmeceuticals, minimally invasive and traditional surgery, body contouring, combined therapies, chemical peels, PDT, scar treatment, as well as social media and marketing were among the most spoken about subjects. Many sessions were held simultaneously and therefore I was totally aware of not being able to attend each and every of them. Those that I still managed to attend were extremely interesting. Body contouring market is facing a very rapid growth globally, but mostly in Europe. Nowadays there are quite a few truly effective technologies used to carry out non-invasive body fat reduction. Shortly for the same purpose European specialists will be able to use a number of injectables. While in Asia the treatment of tattoos is extremely rare, in Europe and in the US this sector is booming. New picosecond technologies with the launch of the new Discovery Pico laser of Quanta System (1.8 gigawatts of power and pulse duration of 450 picoseconds) have reached high levels of sophistication and promise very good results in a very short time. Less invasive surgery (also with very low recovery time) has established itself as the main trend followed by most doctors and patients. The combination of cosmeceuticals, chemical treatments, injectables and laser treatments is becoming more and more promising and often allows for truly remarkable results by reducing the size and number of side effects. My contribution to the congress concerned the treatment of scars with CO2 laser. I noticed a higher turnout of Italian colleagues this time (and I am pleased with it) and a higher level of scientific reports. Finally, the congress as always gave me an opportunity of interacting with my colleagues from around the world to share experience and ideas. I consider 5CC Meeting a MUST-GO, a Congress that all colleagues of this industry should follow and visit.
